If you haven’t yet discovered the benefits of yoga – or even if you’re a yoga veteran, it’s worth investing some time and energy into visiting the gorgeous new Kensal based yoga studio Rise Yoga in Wrentham Avenue’s Tay building.

Specialising in Hatha, Vinyassa & Yin yoga, Rise Yoga was founded by local Kensal Riser Jim Cox.  Long term resident Jim (who incidentally is married to Harriet Roberts who runs the well loved Sing & Sing baby franchise) had the idea of Rise Yoga upon moving into the Tay building for his product design company.  Jim told us he couldn’t help but think it would be lovely to restore the space (previously the Special Yoga Centre) back to a high quality open-to-all yoga environment – “Our building lends itself so well to this that I decided to repurpose our little used showroom and restore it to it’s former glory as a Yoga Studio”.

The teaching team is small, dedicated and local – led by the highly experienced Jacqui Ho, who Jim tells us is an “unpretentious teacher with a very chilled way about her in the studio. She embodies our purpose, which is to provide high quality teaching in a beautiful, relaxing, non judgemental and very supportive environment. No nonsense basically – just the many benefits of yoga, on your doorstep.”

What we particular love about the space is that it’s bathed in natural light and has a very serene atmosphere, plus it’s thirty seconds from Kensal Rise station which is always super helpful if going straight out or to work afterwards.

Despite only opening in March of this year, Rise Yoga already appears to have a loyal following with one regular customer glowing with endorsement –

“What an amazing class!!! Super relaxing, best teacher and great studio! Highly recommend!!!”

Rise Yoga is offering Queen’s Park Mums £12 for a walk in class (RRP £15) & 1 month of unlimited classes for £45.
You can find the full timetable here or read more about the space via the website.
