The Lexi Cinema is showing animated adventure comedy film ‘Early Man‘ (PG) throughout most of half term week (9th – 15th February).  This pre-historic adventure stars Eddie Redmayne, Tom Hiddleston and Timothy Spall to name just a few from its all-star cast .  See website for film times.

The Sherriff Centre in West Hampstead has the Hullabaloo soft play arena, which is a lovely way to allow the kids to let off a little steam whilst you enjoy the delights of their Sanctuary Cafe. There is a smaller area for kids under 2 years and a bigger enclosure for 2-10 year olds. Hour long sessions run Monday – Saturday 9am – 5pm (it is advisable to check if parties are taking place before attending).

Oxygen Freejumping trampoline park allows children of all ages to jump and flip until their hearts content.  Free jumping is permitted for all over the age of 3 and Little O’s for the under 5’s run in the mornings.  Sessions run for 1 hour.

The Maqam Centre in Queen’s Park offers family swim times over half term in its beautiful fifteen metre warm swimming pool.  An Other Cup coffee shop is also now open for pre or post swim food and drink.

Queen’s Park sounds like an obvious choice but we can’t ignore the fact that we have a beautiful and very well equipped playground on our very doorstep.  You can find a large enclosed sandpit area for the under 5’s, multiple climbing frames, tyre swings and a very cool zip wire.

A petting zoo is also a great feature of Queen’s Park, and is on the East side of the park, closest to Salusbury Road.

This half term, London Zoo is putting on a week of interactive family events – inviting children to take part in a role play experience to become vets at the zoo’s animal hospital. Throughout the week, London Zoo will also be putting on a number of talks and activities relating to the behind the scenes world of the zoo.

Art4Fun on West End Lane gives both adults and children a chance to get creative in its inviting art based cafe. There are a whole host of creative options – from pottery painting (cups / bowls / plates etc) to painting of wood, glass and t-shirts. No artistic skills or experience necessary and you get to keep a fabulous piece of handmade artwork for yourself or as a gift.  Refreshments available.
