Hot yoga is a great way to get into shape after birth – it is gentle enough and has low impact allowing you to work safely and carefully without any fast or jerking movements that could injure.  After birth, you can start classes as soon as your doctor says it’s ok, as early as a few weeks after birth, as long as you work with an experienced teacher and stay within your comfort zone.

For any pregnant ladies out there, unless you already have an established hot yoga practice, as it is not safe to get overheated during pregnancy, the hot classes are best avoided until after the birth. If you have some experience of yoga and are happy to modify your practice accordingly, you could always try out a Fierce Grace Warm class, which is held in a more ambient environment.
