Art West Open Studios, NW10

A unique chance to see inside artists studios, right here in NW10, as part of this annual event now in its fifth year. Over 30 local artists welcome you into their studios for the day, let you have a nose around and a chat – a really great way for your budding young Banksys to get inspired. Battersea Cats and Dogs Home’s Victorian Day
10:30am – 3pm; £2 for adults, £1 for children, just turn up.
If your kids are fans of our favourite four legged friends, why not check out Battersea Dogs and Cats Home’s Victorian Day where they can experience life as it was for the furry residents of the home when it first opened its doors in 1860. As well as Victorian games, entertainment and food, the event includes tours of the kennels and cattery.

Bear Grylls Festival – Trent Park, Barnet
9am – 5pm
Are your kids an adventurous lot?  Then Bear Grylls Festival could be right up their street – with adrenalin-filled activities like bungee, zip wires, survival walk and talks, as well as live music, and gourmet pop ups. Ok, so it is in Barnet, meaning a bit of a trek, but well, that seems pretty apt really…Tickets free for kids under 12 and if you book via Londonist you get 40% off the weekend ticket price.

Giant Brick Animal Trail, London Wetland Centre, Barnes
9:30am – 5pm; trail included in standard admission price (£12.75 adult, £7 child, under 4s free)
Seek out the nine giant lego animals amongst their real life counterparts, join a lego workshop and create your very own model to take home (pre-booking required for workshop).

Hampstead Heath Conker Championship
2:30 – 5pm
Feeling competitive? Then get your conkers out for the annual championship at Parliament Hill. Battle commences at 3pm, other entertainment from 2:30-5.
