baby cinema 300 x 300

Just because you’ve had a baby, doesn’t mean you have to give up on cinema entirely. If you have a little one you can still catch the latest flicks at a baby screening while your baby snoozes, or feeds (fingers crossed!); or if you have older kids, how about a weekend cinema trip (granted this is probably more of a treat for them than you, depending on your tolerance for Disney-type fare…)

The Lexi Cinema
194b Chamberlayne Road, NW10 3JU

The sign on the Lexi demands our affection: ‘I am a cinema. Love me.’ it proclaims with neon pink glee. And there’ll be no arguments from us – Queens Park Mums hearts the Lexi, and so should you! Apart from the fact that it’s the only cinema in our area, it’s also the UK’s first social enterprise independent digital boutique cinema (trips off the tongue eh?!), meaning all of its profits go to a charity in South Africa and it is mainly staffed by local volunteers. It’s also a lovely place to be: the auditorium has a beautiful Bruce Munro light installation (ideal twinkly distraction for the bubbas) and there’s plenty of yummy snacks and hot drinks to enjoy while for 90 minutes or so you sit back, scoff some popcorn pretend to be a normal human being again (barring any nappy-filling incidents…).
